1. God
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God alone is the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe.
God the Father is the Creator and Giver of Life who becomes a true Father to all who place their faith in Jesus Christ.

God the Son is the eternal Son of God who was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. While on earth, Jesus was truly God and truly human, perfectly revealing the character and will of God through His life. He was without sin, and His death on the cross made possible the salvation of men from sin. He bodily rose from the dead and is now seated in heaven making intercession for the children of God. He will one day return in power to judge the world and consummate His mission of redemption.

God the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God who dwells in the hearts of all Christians. He enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism, and service. His indwelling seals every believer until the day of Jesus’ return.

2. The Scriptures
We believe that the Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is the record of God’s revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. It is the supreme standard for judging all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions. Though the various theological statements of the Church and these Bylaws reflect succinct summaries of biblical boundaries, it is the Bible itself to which we are in ultimate submission.

3. Man
We believe that man was created in the image of God as the crowning work of creation. Man was, originally, created without sin but freely chose to disobey God and, thereby, brought sin upon the entire human race. All of mankind is now born with a nature and an environment inclined toward sin. All humans who become capable of moral actions become transgressors and are under condemnation. Only the grace of God can restore fellowship with God.

4. Salvation
We believe that salvation is offered freely to all who will accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Salvation, or new birth, is a work of God’s grace whereby believers become new creatures in Christ. It is a change of heart wrought by the Holy Spirit through the conviction of sin, to which the sinner responds in repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Justification is God’s acquittal of all sinners who repent and believe in Jesus Christ.

5. The Church
We believe the New Testament Church to be the body of Christ which includes all of the redeemed of all ages. It is expressed on earth in the form of a local body of believers who are associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel. The church is an autonomous body under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

6. Christian Baptism
The immersion of a believer in water, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit symbolizes the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen savior as well as the believer’s death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in the newness of life of Christ Jesus. It is a symbol and testimony of our faith and obedience and serves as a prerequisite to the privilege of church membership.

7. The Lord’s Supper
We believe the Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby members of the church, through partaking of the bread and the fruit of the vine, memorialize the death of Jesus and anticipate His second coming.

8. Last Things
We believe that God, in His own time and way, will bring the world to its appropriate end. Jesus will return, personally and visibly, in glory to the earth. The dead will be raised, and Christ will judge all men in righteousness. The unrighteous will be sent to Hell, a place of eternal punishment. The righteous, in their resurrected and glorified bodies, will receive their reward and will live forever in heaven with the Lord.
